Effect of Policyholder Demographic Structure on Insurance Product Demand

Abstract

Policyholder demographic structure is an important consideration in the insurance industry because differences in age, gender, income level, occupation, family structure, and other demographic characteristics may influence individuals' insurance needs and purchasing decisions. Understanding the demographic composition of policyholders can therefore help insurance companies identify patterns in insurance product demand and develop products that are appropriate for different customer groups. Analysing demographic structure is also useful for effective market segmentation, product planning, and insurance business development. The study will examine the effect of policyholder demographic structure on insurance product demand. It will investigate the extent to which demographic characteristics of policyholders are associated with differences in the demand for various insurance products. The study will also assess patterns of product preference among different demographic groups and determine whether certain categories of policyholders demonstrate greater demand for particular types of insurance coverage. The analysis will consider demographic characteristics such as age, gender, income level, occupation, marital status, and family size in relation to demand for selected insurance products. Insurance product demand will be assessed using appropriate indicators such as policy ownership, product selection, number of policies purchased, or frequency of product uptake.
