Abstract

Changes in rainfall variability can therefore influence the expected payouts and financial values of weather derivative contracts. This study will examine the effect of rainfall variability on weather derivative contract values. It will assess how changes in the frequency, intensity, and distribution of rainfall affect the valuation of contracts linked to rainfall indices. The study will also determine how variations in rainfall patterns influence expected derivative payouts and the financial exposure associated with weather-related risks.
