CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

1.2 Statement of the Problem

1.3 Objectives of the Study

i.               To evaluate the impact of library resources on teaching and learning outcomes in staff schools.

ii.             To determine the adequacy of digital resources and technology integration in staff school libraries.

iii.            To find out the extent of librarian training and its influence on service delivery in staff school libraries.

1.4 Research Questions

Based on the specific objectives, the following research questions will guide the study:

i.               What is the impact of library resources on teaching and learning outcomes in staff schools?

ii.              What is the adequacy of digital resources and technology integration in staff school libraries?

iii.            How does librarian training influence service delivery in staff school libraries?

1.5 Research Hypotheses

Hypothesis I

H0: There is no significant impact of library resources on teaching and learning outcomes in staff schools.

H1: There is a significant impact of library resources on teaching and learning outcomes in staff schools.

Hypothesis II

H0: There is no significant relationship between the adequacy of digital resources and technology integration and the effectiveness of staff school libraries.

H2: There is a significant relationship between the adequacy of digital resources and technology integration and the effectiveness of staff school libraries.

Hypothesis III

H0: There is no significant influence of librarian training on service delivery in staff school libraries.

H3: There is a significant influence of librarian training on service delivery in staff school libraries.

1.6 Significance of the Study

This study is significant as it provides valuable insights into the current state of information resources and service provision in staff school libraries. By identifying key areas of strength and weakness, the findings will help policymakers, educators, and library administrators to make informed decisions about improving library services. 1.7 Scope of the Study

The data will be collected from a selected number of staff schools, with findings generalized to similar institutions within the region.

1.8 Limitations of the Study

1.9 Definition of Terms
