Abstract

The study examines the effect of digital insurance platforms on insurance risk assessment, focusing on how technology-enabled platforms influence the identification, evaluation, and measurement of risks within insurance operations. Digital insurance platforms provide insurers with opportunities to collect, process, and analyze large volumes of customer and risk-related information through online systems. Their adoption may therefore improve the efficiency and accuracy of traditional risk assessment processes. The study will investigate the effect of digital insurance platforms on insurance risk assessment by examining how digital tools influence data collection, risk profiling, underwriting, premium determination, and risk classification. It will assess whether the availability of real-time information and automated analytical processes enables insurers to identify relevant risk characteristics more efficiently. Proper integration of digital platforms may also contribute to improved operational efficiency and more responsive insurance services. The study concludes that digital insurance platforms can play an important role in improving insurance risk assessment by providing faster access to data and supporting more efficient analytical processes. It is therefore recommended that insurers invest in reliable digital platforms, strengthen data quality and cybersecurity measures, and provide adequate training for employees involved in digital risk assessment. These measures will help insurers improve risk evaluation, strengthen underwriting practices, and support more accurate and sustainable insurance decisions.
