Correlation Between Mandibular Length and Body Height Among Undergraduate Students

Abstract

The study will examine the correlation between mandibular length and body height among undergraduate students, with emphasis on determining the association between mandibular dimensions and overall stature. The mandible is an important component of the facial skeleton, while body height is a fundamental anthropometric measurement used in assessing general body proportions. Examining the relationship between these dimensions may provide useful information on craniofacial and somatic variation among young adults. The study will specifically determine the mandibular length and body height of undergraduate students and assess the strength and direction of the relationship between the two measurements. It will also describe the distribution and variation of mandibular length and body height among the participants and determine whether differences in mandibular length are associated with differences in overall stature. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Undergraduate students who meet the specified inclusion criteria will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique. Mandibular length will be assessed using standardized anatomical landmarks and a suitable anthropometric procedure, while body height will be measured in the standing position using a stadiometer or other standardized height-measuring instrument.
