Abstract
The study will determine body height from arm span and sitting height among undergraduate students, with the aim of examining the usefulness of these anthropometric measurements in estimating standing height. Body height is an important anthropometric parameter used in clinical assessment, physical anthropology, nutritional evaluation, ergonomics, and forensic investigations. When direct measurement of standing height is difficult or unavailable, alternative body dimensions such as arm span and sitting height may provide useful estimation approaches. The study will focus on measuring standing height, arm span, and sitting height among selected undergraduate students and determining the relationship between these variables. Arm span will be measured as the distance between the tips of the middle fingers with the arms fully extended, while sitting height will be measured from the sitting surface to the vertex of the head using standardized procedures. The study will assess whether arm span and sitting height can be used individually or jointly to estimate body height. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Undergraduate students who meet the eligibility criteria will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique.
