Relationship Between Chin Height and Lower Facial Height Among Undergraduate Students

Abstract

The study will examine the relationship between chin height and lower facial height among undergraduate students, with emphasis on determining the extent to which variation in chin height is associated with differences in lower facial height. Chin height is an important component of lower facial morphology, while lower facial height contributes to the overall vertical proportion of the face. Assessing the relationship between these dimensions may provide useful information for understanding individual variation in facial anthropometry. The study will specifically determine the mean chin height and lower facial height among the participants and assess the strength and direction of the relationship between the two measurements. Chin height will be assessed using standardized facial anthropometric landmarks, while lower facial height will be measured from an appropriate upper facial landmark to the lowest point of the chin. Consistent anatomical landmarks and measurement procedures will be used to improve the accuracy and reliability of the measurements. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Undergraduate students will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique, and relevant demographic information will be obtained from the participants.
