Relationship Between Nasal Tip Breadth and Nasal Breadth Among Young Adults

Abstract

The study examines the relationship between nasal tip breadth and nasal breadth among young adults, focusing on the association between these two dimensions of external nasal morphology. Nasal tip breadth and nasal breadth are important features of the external nose and contribute to the overall assessment of nasal proportions and individual anatomical variation. Understanding the relationship between these measurements may provide useful information for anatomical and anthropometric studies of facial morphology. The study will determine the nasal tip breadth and nasal breadth of young adults using standardized anatomical landmarks and direct anthropometric measurement procedures. Nasal tip breadth will be measured across the appropriate transverse dimension of the nasal tip, while nasal breadth will be measured across the widest portion of the external nose. The study will describe the distribution of both measurements and determine the degree of association between nasal tip breadth and nasal breadth among the participants. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Young adults who meet the established eligibility criteria will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique. Data will be collected through direct observation and standardized anthropometric measurements using suitable measuring instruments, with consistent participant positioning and anatomical landmarks maintained throughout the assessment.
