Sexual Dimorphism in Urinary Bladder Dimensions Among Young Adults

Abstract

The study examines sexual dimorphism in urinary bladder dimensions among young adults, with emphasis on differences in selected bladder measurements between male and female participants. The urinary bladder is a hollow muscular organ of the urinary system that temporarily stores urine before its elimination through the urethra. Knowledge of variations in bladder dimensions is important for understanding pelvic anatomy, interpreting urinary tract imaging, and supporting clinical procedures involving the bladder and surrounding pelvic structures. The study will assess selected urinary bladder dimensions among male and female young adults using appropriate standardized anatomical and imaging-based measurement procedures. The specific objectives will include determining selected bladder dimensions, comparing the measurements between male and female participants, assessing the extent of variation in the measured parameters, and determining whether observed differences in selected bladder dimensions are statistically significant. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. An appropriate sample of male and female young adults will be selected using a suitable sampling technique. Selected bladder dimensions will be obtained through standardized imaging procedures using relevant anatomical landmarks and consistent measurement techniques.
