Correlation Between Chest Depth and Chest Breadth Among Undergraduate Students

Abstract

The study examines the correlation between chest depth and chest breadth among undergraduate students. Chest dimensions are important anthropometric parameters that provide information about thoracic size, body proportions, and physical morphology. Chest depth represents the anteroposterior dimension of the thorax, while chest breadth reflects its transverse dimension, and assessing the relationship between these measurements may provide useful information on variations in thoracic proportions among young adults. The study will assess chest depth and chest breadth among undergraduate students and determine the nature and strength of the relationship between the two measurements. Chest depth and chest breadth will be obtained using appropriate anatomical landmarks and standardized anthropometric procedures. The study will also describe the distribution and variation of the measurements within the selected study population. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Undergraduate students who meet the established eligibility criteria will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique. Data will be collected through direct anthropometric measurements using suitable standardized instruments and procedures.
