Abstract

The study examines the forecasting of claims payment amounts using statistical models, with emphasis on the application of quantitative techniques to predict future insurance claim payments. Accurate forecasting of claims payment amounts is important to insurance companies because it supports adequate reserve estimation, financial planning, cash flow management, and effective assessment of future liabilities. Variations in claim amounts, settlement periods, claim frequency, and payment patterns can create uncertainty, making statistical forecasting an important component of actuarial analysis. The study will investigate the patterns and characteristics of historical claims payment amounts and assess their usefulness in predicting future payments.
